Her current research interests include childmaltreatment/trafficking; pediatric trauma/burns; and NP scope of practice.Dr. Farrell is alocal boardmember of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners,andtheAPP Co-Chairfor thePediatric Trauma Society.Dr. Farrell describesher teachingphilosophyas beingbased on aninfluentialeducator/mentor early inhercareer.This scion of pediatric medicine once told me he learns something new every day, and thispremise oflifelonglearningguides myteaching philosophyandhighlightsthe mutual benefits of student/instructor interaction.I believe that if instructors areopen tonew information, studentscan teachas well as receive information.I have based my professional and academic career on the premise that I will continue to grow and learn fromanyone in any possible situation.
