About Me

Dr. Moore is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon; fellowship trained in adult reconstruction. From Austin, Texas, he is a graduate of St. Michael’s Academy. Dr. Moore completed a degree in Biology at The University of Georgia. He returned to Texas to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for medical school and subsequently completed residency at UT Health San Antonio in general orthopedics. Dr. Moore completed an Adult Reconstruction fellowship at Emory University and again returned to San Antonio to join the faculty of UT Health San Antonio Orthopedics in 2021.
Dr. Moore specializes in total hip and total knee arthroplasty in addition to revision total hip and total knee arthroplasty. He has a particular interest in robotic total knee and partial knee replacements and minimally invasive, muscle sparing direct anterior total hip replacements. He is the Director of Outpatient Joints at UT Health San Antonio’s flagship Multi-Specialty and Research Hospital. He treats a wide range of hip and knee pathologies and utilizes the latest advancements in total joint technology to improve the long-term outcomes for his patients.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Moore is heavily involved in research aimed at advancing the practice of total joints and improving orthopedic care delivered to total joints patients. Notably, Dr. Moore has numerous publications is a repeatedly published investigator in peer-reviewed journals including The Journal of Arthroplasty, The Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Arthroplasty Today, Journal of Knee Surgery and Geriatric Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation. He has presented his research at national conferences and is an active fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Moore met the love of his life, Alexa, while he was a medical student and she a law student. They have two beautiful daughters. Dr. Moore’s father and two older brothers are orthopedic surgeons practicing in Austin, Texas and Alexa’s grandfather, Dr. John M. Smith, Jr., played an integral role in the establishment of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio medical school.
In his free time, Dr. Moore enjoys hunting and fishing in south and central Texas, spending time on the gulf coast and in the mountains of New Mexico, scuba diving, traveling, UGA and UT football, coaching his daughters’ sports teams and, of course, Fiesta.
Dr. Moore has embraced the community and culture of San Antonio and South Texas and feels a strong commitment to provide world class orthopedic care in the region.
