About Me
Dr. Jason Phillips, M.D., is a practicing Cardiologist at UT Health San Antonio. He graduated from Wright State Boonshoft School of Medicine in 2011. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency (2014), Chief Resident (2015), and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship (2018) at UT Health San Antonio. Upon graduation, he joined the ranks of Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Disease Clinical Faculty at UT Health San Antonio. He was soon promoted to Associate Program Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship.
Dr. Phillips is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He specializes in non-invasive cardiovascular disease, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, electrical cardioversion, and cardiac nuclear imaging. In addition to clinical work, his interests include medical education, fellowship wellness, quality improvement, patient safety, and reducing heart failure readmissions.
He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and a graduate of the Clinical Safety and Effectiveness course. He has received multiple teaching awards throughout his training and has been invited to speak to trainees of all levels throughout the medical school. He maintains clinics at the UT Medical Arts & Research Center, Audie Murphey VA Hospital, and University Hospital.
