About Me

Leah Brown, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and the surgical care of knee, shoulder and elbow injuries. She currently serves as the lead team orthopaedic surgeon for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs and is an associate professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

A former NCAA National Gymnastics Champion and 14-time All-American at the University of Georgia, Dr. Brown earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University and completed residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. A decorated U.S. Navy veteran, she deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Special Operations missions, earning the Bronze Star and multiple military commendations. She continues to serve as a Navy Reserve Captain.

Dr. Brown completed her sports medicine fellowship at OrthoCarolina, working with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and several collegiate teams. She has served as a team physician for both WNBA and NBA teams and is a consultant for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.

A recognized leader and mentor, Dr. Brown serves on multiple national boards and is deeply committed to education, advocacy, and service. Outside of medicine, she enjoys time with her husband and children and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
