About Me
Dr. Arbelaez was born and raised in Colombia, she earned her medical degree from El Bosque University and later completed a Masters in Hospital Administration at EAN University. She was the Medical Chief Officer of a community clinic in Bogota, Colombia for many years before moving to the United States. Dr. Arbelaez completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Centerand her fellowship in Geriatrics at UT-Southwestern. During her residency at UT-San Antonio, Dr. Arbelaez received the Award of Excellence in Clinical Geriatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the American Geriatrics Society. Dr. Arbelaez is passionate about promoting healthy aging, empowering her patients to improve their health and quality of life through patient education and shared medical decision-making, and working to reduce health disparities. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, their teenage son and their friends.
